Handling airside safety underfoot

Vynagrip slip resistant matting, manufactured in the UK by Plastic Extruders Ltd, has been extensively installed airside in the baggage handling area of George Best Belfast City Airport.

The airport has grown significantly over the last few years and currently caters for over 2.5 million passengers a year. This has led to an increased workload in the baggage handling areas. Here the handlers spend prolonged periods of time working on concrete which is frequently wet from rain due to the constant passage of the baggage trollies between the carousals and the aircraft.

To improve comfort and safety underfoot, the airport management approached safety products specialist Arco who recommended anti-fatigue and slip resistant Vynagrip matting as ideal for this application. Scientific tests prove the matting not only reduces the stress and fatigue for workers standing on hard surfaces but its deeply etched phentermine 37.5 surface achieves a high rating for slip resistant performance. In addition, the matting contours over uneven surfaces while its 15mm open grid height means it straddles pools of water and efficiently dissipates any surface liquid thereby keeping workers safe, comfortable and dry.

Vyngarip is available in standard colours of red, blue or black with the additional option of black with yellow edge bands for Vynagrip Plus. The black version is manufactured with a minimum of 30% post-industrial recycled material and is fully recyclable, making it a sustainable and environmentally-sensitive choice.  The matting is supplied in 5m or 10m roll lengths, 60, 91 and 122cm wide; individual modules with yellow safety ramping to three sides are available in 80 x 120cm or 100 x 150cm.
