Safety & Health Expo

Safety & Health Expo, Europe’s largest annual health and safety event, returns to the NEC Birmingham from 17 – 19 May 2011. Packed with a plethora of innovative features, a comprehensive and free-of-charge educational programme and an extensive exhibition housing the leading names in health and safety products and services, this is an event not-to-be-missed by anyone involved in health and safety. The event is hosted in partnership with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Amongst the 300 industry-renowned exhibitors, some of the world’s leading names will be showcasing their latest developments including BM Polyco, Draeger, Latchways, JSP, MSA, Arco, Cirrus, Posturite, Scott Health & Safety and Sperian.

The Safety & Health Expo 2011 educational programme will be the most expansive in the event’s history with a brand new Occupational Health Theatre, sponsored by Posturite contributing to the five dedicated theatres.

New for 2011, the Occupational Health Theatre will focus on health in the workplace. Seminar topics include stress management, ergonomics, behavioural safety, equality and diversity and other core topics which help promote a better quality of life in the workplace.

The SHP Legal Arena, sponsored by The HSE Recruitment Network, which was packed out at every session in 2010, returns with a new programme dedicated to addressing the key issues concerning practitioners today. Over the three days, there will be a number of keynote presentations from some of the leading voices in the industry.

The Product and Innovation Hub, sponsored by Arco, returns to allow visitors to discover the newest products and latest innovations from across the industry. Presentations will be delivered by renowned health and safety manufacturers, distributors and suppliers.

IOSH will also be presenting updates on recent developments in the IOSH Stand Theatre. The informative sessions will provide information and updates on CPD, training courses and technical guidance.
Access Industry Forum (AIF), the umbrella organisation representing the principal trade bodies and associations connected with working at height, will once again host the Working at Height Knowledge Base. Visitors to the ‘Base’ will be able to source the latest information and gain practical advice about work at height.

Also returning is Explosive Substances Live, presented by Denios, which will deliver deliver informative, lively and thoroughly entertaining experimental lectures. These graphic demonstrations will highlight what consequences can arise when flammable materials are incorrectly handled.

Finally, the BSIF Safety Awards 2011 will recognise excellence within the safety industry, customer service and product innovation. Awards will be handed out in three categories: Product Innovation, Service Awards and Safety Excellence.
