Peter Silk, formerly a technical advisor to Firebuy and Assistant Divisional Officer with the London Fire Brigade (LFB), has joined Draeger Safety as Manager of its new Southern Safety Centre. He joins a team of industrial experts focused on delivering high quality solutions to customer problems as a result of in-depth knowledge of different industrial applications.

Brian Hesler, former Fire Chief at Northumberland Fire and Rescue, has joined Draeger Safety as Head of Service and Training UK. Based at the company’s head office in Blyth, Brian is no stranger to customer requirements for high quality service having served 33 years in the Fire Service. He will now be heading up Draeger’s extensive training, after care and support service across the UK.

Draeger Safety is proud to have passed a formal evaluation of its Polytron 7000 Oxygen and Toxic Gas Detector by the British Nuclear Industry Smart Instruments Working Group. The evaluation included quality control and assurance, proven in-use data of the instrument and production methods for both the hardware and software elements of the transmitter.
The Draeger Polytron 7000, with self-diagnostic functions that ensure that no failures go unreported or are missed, has been classified as suitable for use as a SIL 1 (Safety Integrity Level) instrument under IEC61508, Electric Electrical and Programmable Electronic Equipment used in Safety Systems. As part of its ongoing commitment to improving fire fighter safety and operational performance, Draeger Safety has developed the UCF range of Thermal Imaging Cameras.
