“This special offer means there are even more savings to be made against the overall kit, so it represents fantastic value for money.

Trojan2 user Jill Edmondson, in Wakefield Council’s Communities Environmental Health Department agreed: “The recordings are invaluable when an officer has to approach the subject of the complaint and if necessary show them the evidence of noise nuisance.” she said. “The Trojan is particularly invaluable when the noise nuisance is sporadic. “It gives us a very clear picture of what is going on.”

Trojan2 offers high quality, high resolution audio recording as standard using a 16bit/16kHz uncompressed WAV file. This gives plenty of frequency range (up to 8kHz) and a wide dynamic range (up to 96dB) so audio recordings can handle both high and low levels with no loss of quality.”

Another key feature is the Wireless remote control and 4GB memory. This is usually more than enough for most applications but it can be expanded with a 32GB option.

The AuditStore function in the Trojan2 also guarantees the chain of data from the instrument to the software, a useful feature if you need to present measurements and recordings as evidence.

Other noise monitoring must-haves included on the Trojan2 are Pre & Post Trigger options for audio recording that can be set as needed. The pre-trigger can be up to 30 seconds and post-trigger up to 60 seconds.

Another important feature is that when power is restored, the noise nuisance recorder will start up again and continue to operate. The Trojan2 will automatically restart when the mains power is restored even if its internal batteries are flat.

Other modifications to make life easier for the end user include:

• Quicker and simpler removal of the cables for transport and storage

• Less cables to connect to the sound level meter

• More space in the case for storing accessories

• A simple way to add a wired hand switch if needed

SHOWA 377-IP SET TO MAKE AN IMPACT IN REDUCING WORKPLACE HAND INJURIES

Globus is set to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of hand protection solutions with the launch of the high performance impact-resistant SHOWA 377-IP nitrile foam grip glove.
Designed to protect workers across a range of industries including oil and gas, construction, rail, mining, logistics and utilities that face the risk of impact-related hand injuries, the new SHOWA 377-IP glove combines impact protection with wet and dry grip performance, durability, comfort and dexterity.
Thanks to its revolutionary design, the back of the hands, knuckles and fingers are protected by SHOWA’s fully integrated and highly flexible Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) shields that absorb and dissipate the force of an impact, significantly reducing the threat of injuries. Flex points have also been built-in to the TPR shields so that when the hands are gripping tightly, the shields aren’t ‘opened up’ safeguarding the bones against potential impact exposure.
On the palm, SHOWA’s patented nitrile foam grip technology – which extends to the fingertips – disperses liquids including oil, grease and water to deliver outstanding grip in wet and slippery conditions. The additional underlying layer of durable film nitrile bolsters protection to the entire hand.
The result is a glove ideally suited to anyone working in physically demanding environments with wet handling conditions where impact risks exist.
“The SHOWA 377-IP glove fills a real gap in the market that currently exists where there are impact risks to workers’ hands. You only have to look at the latest figures from the Health and Safety Executive to see how risk-exposed the hands are – in particular from handling and ‘struck-by’ impact injuries. Handling injuries remain the single biggest cause of over 7-day injuries in the UK*, with ‘struck-by’ injuries the fourth phentermine 37.5 with prescription largest cause,” said Globus Marketing Manager Steve Shale.
“The development of the SHOWA 377-IP provides the perfect balance of impact protection, wet and dry grip, hand flexibility and liquid resistance. It also overcomes any lack of finger flexibility that can be evident in other impact protection gloves. Feedback from workers thus far has been extremely positive, many being impressed with the levels of grip and protection it offers whilst working in oil-based mud and when concreting.” he added.
In addition to its physical attributes, the new SHOWA 377-IP provides wider user benefits including:
Durability – the palm is more abrasion resistant compared to traditional synthetic leather
Ergonomic Design – provides comfort for extended wear and reduced hand fatigue. Designed using SHOWA’s patented manufacturing processes resulting in a glove style that mimics the natural curvature of the hand.
Bright Blue and Green Colour – users benefit from a highly visibly glove which can help safety in poorly-lit or gloomy working environments. This increases the awareness of the users’ hands by others.
Grip – excellent and proven grip performance in oily, wet and dry environments thanks to SHOWA’s patented nitrile foam coating to the palm and fingertips.
Flexibility and Tactility – has the flexibility and dexterity that workers really like leading to increased wearer compliance and greater worker efficiency.
Part of the Renowned Family of Patented SHOWA Nitrile Foam Grip Gloves – SHOWA 377-IP is an addition to a product family with an impressive legacy. Gloves featuring the same SHOWA patented nitrile foam grip technology (SHOWA 377, 379, 477 and S-TEX 376) are already trusted extensively by workers across a range of industries.

Cirrus Research to showcase doseBadge® 5 at H&SNorth 2016

Noise monitoring specialists Cirrus Research will be showcasing its doseBadge5 at Health & Safety North at Bolton Arena, October 12-13.

Offering a host of new features, the latest addition to the doseBadge range will be on the H36 stand, giving delegates the chance to see and experience the latest model for the first time.

The doseBadge5 has been developed by the in-house R&D team, following on from the doseBadge IV that was introduced in 2007.

Its compact size hosts a wealth of new future-proof technology but still offers the same tried and tested features that have set the doseBadge apart since its debut in 1996.

The doseBadge5 arrives in the year that Cirrus Research celebrates 20 years since it brought the first doseBadge to market – having sold an incredible 20,000 units worldwide since then.

The latest model has a wide range of new USPs including: increased wireless technology so the doseBadge can be connected via a mobile phone or App on a IOS or Android controlled device; with information being downloaded even quicker using this type of technology.

The doseBadge5 unit is now even more slimline boasting detailed data-logging facilities that can be specified down to the second, rather than the previous one-minute window.

It also has intelligent charging with the device controlling its own charger to combat overcharging so it can prolong battery life to more than 12 hours and now includes an anti-tamper and vibration device to cut down on anomalies.

To give users complete control buy phentermine 37.5 mg with no prescription over your noise assessments, the doseBadge5 allows measurements to be started and stopped automatically at preset times using the Scheduled Measurements function. The start time, duration and end time of a measurement can be set either in the NoiseTools software or in the dBLink App, giving you complete control over when measurement data is gathered.

If required, measurements can be paused to allow for lunch breaks or rest periods that should not be included in the overall measurement data. Up to three timed periods can be defined for each day and the timers enabled or disabled for specific days of the week. If the doseBadge5 is on the Dock being charged, timed measurement periods are ignored but as soon as badge is removed from the Dock, the timers are activated.

This allows the doseBadge5 to be deployed to remote sites or to locations where there is no access to a doseBadge5 Wand or the dBLink App.

Thomas Shelton, Marketing Manager, said: “The response we have had to the doseBadge5 has been fantastic and we expect a similar reception in Bolton. There will also be special offers available over the two days for both new and existing clients to take advantage of, as well as Cirrus’ other noise and vibration products being showcased.”

As well as the doseBadge5, the Cirrus team will also be demonstrating Optimus sound level meter range as well as the Revo vibration meter for hand-arm and whole body measuring that only came to market in 2015.
